Rare early 20th century dentist / medical chair made in white painted wood with dark green leather upholstered seat and neck rest. The neck rest is height adjustable so it would accommodate both adults and children when in use. The seat also has a very modernist pattern made with upholsterers decor nails similar to that of German/Swedish designer Otto Schulz and what he used on his cabinets. The high back style of chair is also very much associated with the grand father of Scottish design Charles Rennie Macintosh. This is chair was though most likely produced in Sweden and a few other quite similar designs appears in Swedish museums. Among them an example in the military museum in the small city, Boden, into the north of sweden. Very good vintage condition with light ware consistent with age and use, including som paint loss and scratches at the bottom of the legs. The white paint may be of a later date but sure is early. The underside has been strengthened with two L-shaped white metal parts.
